Langfields Group has a history which stretches back to the 1800s, when the company was involved in the production of mild steel, copper and brass components.

Nice to meet you

We guess that you need an advanced metal product.

Perhaps you don’t know exactly what it looks like, or how to make it fit in the space envelope that you have available, or how to install it.….we are here to solve those problems, develop that design and, most importantly, help you.

Our Culture

We find it astonishing that so many people believe, to operate a successful business, you have to be ruthless. They say that there should be one person at the top telling everyone else what to do, and dissent or alternative views should not be tolerated.

But we know there is a better way. Our culture is founded upon one single tenet: with every pair of hands comes a free brain. We encourage all employees to come up with ideas. The role of leaders is to remove blockers so that their employees can do their jobs better. Decision making should be where the information is, not purely driven by seniority.

Our Values

High Performance – Creating a culture where teamwork, professionalism and a relentless obsession to succeed allow us to exceed expectations as a team.

100% Responsibility – Through a working relationship centred around trust and respect, we aim to create an environment where ownership and accountability are non-negotiable as part of our commitment to delivery quality and growth across the Langfields platform. We take 100% responsibility for Occupational Health and Safety, plus the impact of our daily operations on the environment and ensure that they are at the forefront of all our business decisions and are embedded in our culture.

Right First Time – By encouraging a collaborative
and innovative approach to the design, engineering and fabrication of our products, we strive to deliver high quality and excellence first time, every time in a safe and sustainable manner.

Servant Leadership – At Langfields, everyone has
a voice. The role of leaders is to remove blockers and obstacles which get in the way of our employees doing a great job. We don’t have a top-down leadership pyramid; we invert the triangle so that leaders support the employees. We adopt a pragmatic approach to decision making whilst displaying courage in our mentoring with a passion to develop, empower and promote our people to deliver our vision.

People Champions – We support and actively promote an open, honest and transparent community where continuous learning and communication contribute to our happiness, allowing our people to feel invested in our business and to embrace our journey.

Our Story

In the UK, the fabrication of metal products and the fusing together of metal structures evolved significantly during the industrial revolution with hundreds of thousands of people employed in industry.

But, post the Second World War, there has been a gradual deterioration and erosion of craft and trade skills with many large fabrication and manufacturing businesses ceasing to exist. Small businesses continued but there was significant fragmentation of the supply chain.

At Langfields, we decided to build a platform of scale and pull a number of individual businesses into one Group concentrating fragmented crafts and skills. As well as seasoned journeymen and craftspeople, we have invested in a large number of modern apprentices. We have created a manufacturing company with facilities located across the length and breadth of the UK. We have mechanical design, manufacturing, advanced automated welding, precision engineering, machining and site installation. We are the One Stop Shop for advanced manufacturing to the modern industries of the United Kingdom.
