The Langfields Salford Facility have recently secured a significant and sizeable contract awarded through our Category Management Framework Agreement with Sellafield. The project which has been awarded through Sellafield’s Construction Partner, Doosan Babcock, covers Phase I and Phase II of the SIXEP Project and is for the fabrication of 13 tanks and vessels, all of which are to be manufactured and delivered between August 2021 and May 2024.
All of the 13 tanks and vessels will be manufactured from 316L Stainless Steel for nuclear work to Sellafield specifications and standards.
Terry Miller, Salford Facility Manager commented on the contract award:
“The award of such a significant scope is testament to the commitment and hard work of the Category Management Team who have worked tirelessly over the last 4 and a half years on the creation, planning, tendering and contractual aspects of this agreement. The award matches our ambitions for continued and accelerated growth within the business and is in recognition of the 100% responsibility, high performance and right first time values delivered from the Salford Facility. Each member of our team has played a role in this success and should feel pride in today’s announcement.”
A massive congratulations must go to the teams from across all three organisations who have worked tirelessly across a number of years to secure this award and our support and focus now shifts towards the execution phase.
Langfields have enjoyed considerable success working alongside both Sellafield and Doosan Babcock previously and look forward to collaborating once again to successfully deliver this high profile project for the Sellafield facility.
