Langfields have recently completed a landmark project from our Dunfermline Facility fabricating & installing a wide range of carbon and stainless 304/316 steel pipe spools for Wood / ExxonMobil at their Fife Ethylene Plant. The 16000 man hour project was completed over a short 9 week period with our team receiving excellent praise, completing 1300 butt welds with a 0% weld repair rate.
Langfields were contracted for a smaller initial scope however after the successful delivery this project was extended to include a much larger quantity of pipe spools. The stainless steel spools fabricated ranged from 4” in size to 8” and were welded with GTAW. All stainless steel spools underwent radiographic testing, pmi and hydro testing.
The carbon steel spools fabricated ranged from 1” in size to 14” and were welded with GTAW (1”,3”, 4”, 6” & 8”) and GTAW/FCAW (12” & 14”). All carbon steel spools underwent radiographic testing and hydro testing.
