Industry leading hydrogen sector manufacturing.
In the clean energy sector, metal products are essential for the production, storage, transportation, and utilisation of hydrogen.
These products need to meet stringent requirements for corrosion resistance, high-strength properties, and resilience in extreme conditions, such as high pressures and low temperatures.

-
Hydrogen Production Equipment
- Pressure Vessels: Stainless steel (such as 304 and 316 grades) and carbon steel are used in high-pressure hydrogen production systems, such as steam methane reformers (SMR), due to their ability to handle the high pressure and temperature conditions.
- We produce a range of products to support the production of hydrogen, to find out more get in touch.
-
Piping and Tubing
- Stainless steel and nickel alloys are widely used in hydrogen pipelines due to their ability to resist hydrogen embrittlement and corrosion. These metals also offer the necessary strength to handle the high pressures associated with hydrogen transport.
- Copper and titanium may also be used in certain applications for specialized requirements, like reduced corrosion or specific environmental conditions.
-
Balance of Plant Components
- Stainless steel and alloy steels are used in the construction of balance of plant (BoP) components, particularly in the bipolar plates of proton exchange membrane (PEM) fuel cells. These metals must exhibit excellent conductivity, strength, and resistance to corrosion in acidic conditions.
- Platinum and palladium are sometimes used as catalysts in fuel cells, though they are more commonly utilised in very specific applications due to their cost.
